Kuala Lumpur · Family Records Support
A clear picture of your family's documents,
without the pressure
Hearthline helps households in Malaysia map, sort and maintain their papers through patient administrative coordination — general information and records organisation only, nothing regulated.
What we offer
Three ways to bring order to your household records
Each service stays within non-regulated administration — sorting, mapping, scanning and indexing. We do not interpret documents or advise on regulated matters. A qualified professional is the right person for anything beyond general information.
Document Map Consultation
A ninety-minute conversation that produces one printed page showing every document your household holds — category, location, format, last updated. A clear starting point before speaking with a qualified professional or a family gathering.
- Printed A3 map + digital copy
- One household, 90 minutes
- Note of any unfound items
- 3 working days preparation

- Orientation document + register
- Three household walkthroughs

Why it helps
What a well-mapped household gains
Calmer conversations with professionals
When you know what you hold and where it is, meetings with lawyers, accountants or financial planners can spend time on substance rather than searching.
A record that lives beyond the moment
An indexed archive and an orientation note written in plain language means any family member can find what they need — not only the person who last touched the files.
Fewer gaps when it matters most
Administrative gaps tend to surface at the worst times. Knowing which documents exist — and which do not — lets a household address the gaps at a quieter moment.
Clarity without interpretation
We describe what a document is and where it sits. We do not say what it means or what you should do with it — that boundary protects you and it.
Knowledge shared across the household
Walkthrough sessions and written materials mean the archive does not live in one person's memory. Families who work through the workshops together often find it opens other conversations.
Time kept in your own hands
We work at your pace. No appointment is a commitment to proceed — enquiries are a conversation, and you decide whether and how to continue at each step.
Where would you like to start?
An initial enquiry is simply a conversation. Tell us a little about your household and what feels unclear, and we'll describe which service, if any, might fit — without any pressure to proceed.
Common questions
Things people often ask before reaching out
What exactly does Hearthline do — and what does it not do?
We help households understand and organise the documents they hold. That means interviewing you about what exists, mapping locations, scanning and indexing files, labelling physical sets and writing plain-language summaries. We do not interpret documents, advise on any regulated matter (legal, financial, tax, medical), contact third parties on your behalf, or make recommendations about what any document means for your situation. Those conversations belong with qualified professionals.
Is this a legal or financial advisory service?
No. Hearthline provides general information, records organisation and administrative coordination only. None of these activities require a regulated professional licence in Malaysia, and we hold no such licence. If you need advice on what your documents mean or what to do with them, we will encourage you to speak with a qualified lawyer, accountant or other relevant professional — and, if helpful, will note in writing which open points to raise.
Which service is right for my household?
The Document Map Consultation suits households that want a single honest picture before a conversation with a professional or a family gathering. The Workshop Series suits those who want to build a durable system themselves over six weeks. The Whole-Household Archive Engagement suits families with a larger or more dispersed set of documents that would take more than a day or two to work through. An enquiry is a good first step — we can describe what each service covers and you can decide whether any fits your situation.
How do sessions work — do you come to our home?
For the Document Map Consultation and the Whole-Household Archive Engagement, a coordinator visits your home during session time, since the work involves walking through rooms and drawers with you. The Family Records Workshops are held at our Kuala Lumpur premises at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. All arrangements are agreed in advance and you are free to pause or end at any point.
How do you handle privacy and confidentiality?
We work only with documents you choose to show us. The map and archive we produce belong to you and are stored on your own devices or in your own filing system — we do not retain copies. Our staff sign confidentiality agreements as a matter of course. Our full privacy approach is set out in our Privacy Policy, which you are welcome to read before making any enquiry.
How long does each service take, and when can we begin?
The Document Map Consultation is one session of ninety minutes followed by three working days of preparation. The Workshop Series runs across six weeks with fortnightly half-day sessions. The Whole-Household Archive Engagement spans ten weeks with up to fourteen sessions. Availability varies — send an enquiry and we can discuss current scheduling. No booking is made until both parties have agreed on timing and scope.
Are fees quoted inclusive of all materials?
The published fees cover the service as described, including the deliverables listed for each service (printed map, digital copy, workbooks, templates, orientation document and so on). Any materials outside the listed scope — for example, physical storage boxes or binders — are discussed and agreed beforehand. There are no hidden additions and no commitment until you confirm in writing.
